This is a mixed route of tarmac and dirt/gravel. Very important, when between mile 3 and 4 if you follow the published route you'll run into a very angry man ordering you off his property with no discussion or helpfulness. So to avoid this the way from Puttker to Tom Wheeler road at mile 3.6 is to turn left at Puttker road continuance, then right at Pendleton Hill Road, then right at Tom Wheeler. Unless you're incredibly mature this guy will ruin about 30 min of your ride. Other than that this route is clean, challenges are followed by beautiful rural tarmac. 80% of the folks are very friendly. The more difficult sections have deep sand mixed with golf ball sized gravel. Most sections are fairly firm. On HikeABike section somewhere in the middle due to a truck trundling by forcing riders to stop and then walk about 50 yards. All in all very pleasant. No good parking in Hopkinton, maybe better to find a place to park in the State Forest near Yawgoo. Will do this many more times.
